Meet Lillian
Lillian Davenport-Partac
Lillian fell in love with designing for the grid while attending the Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago. Having repeatedly practiced her hand lettering as a childhood hobby/obsession, she embarked on a design profession with little prior knowledge of the subject. She soon learned in that the art form she always adored, typography (it had a name!) was integral to her profession of choice.
Lillian grew up in rural Wisconsin and inner-city Chicago , pulling her experiences from having lived on a farm as well as in a housing project. She is also a classical French Horn player. This motley mix of experience informs her design and writing choices.
